Text and Textiles is Wendy Knight
- a talented textiles artist from Little River, Victoria, Australia.
Wendy has had a career in the textiles industry spanning decades,
and is qualified in many areas of textiles industry and crafts.
Her formal qualification is a Diploma of Applied Art (Studio Textiles)
with majors in handknitting and tapestry weaving.
Wendy has had many years experience as a pattern writer,
working for companies such as Cleckheaton, Panda and Patons
and has hundreds of patterns published in their books.
Many of Wendy's patterns have also been published
in Australian magazines and newspapers.
Now
working freelance, Wendy experiments with garment designs
and other textile pieces. As well as still writing for the
companies mentioned above, she is now designing
and writing for Bendigo Woollen Mills.
Her design for an aran jacket is to be included in a knitting book to
be
published by Random House in the northern spring of 2008.
She is a new contributor to knitty.com 2006 saw the exciting step
of a solo exhibition and the plan is to celebrate the arrival of the
2007
southern hemisphere winter with another exhibition.

"Wrapt in Winter" The Gallery at Werribee South,
Celebrating all things woollen and warm, with knitting,
crochet, felting and embroidery.
